About us
The Environmentalist Foundation of India (E.F.I) is an environmental conservation group (officially registered as a non-profit trust) based out of Chennai, Hyderabad, Puducherry, Bangalore, Trivandrum, Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, and Coimbatore which focuses on wildlife conservation and habitat restoration. Started in 2007 and registered in 2012, the organization is known for its work in cleaning and scientific restoration of lakes in India for biodiversity. E.F.I has restored 167 water bodies across 16 states in the country since its inception in 2007. The organization’s principal focus has been on adopting, scientifically reviving, and ecologically restoring freshwater lakes and ponds across the country. Elixir of Life poisoned is a major cause of concern. Modern India’s approach to the conservation of freshwater bodies needs an immediate relook. We consider our water bodies as just water-holding structures. However, these are important lifelines that are home to several different species. We at E.F.I aim at motivating the larger public in understanding, adopting, and conserving our water bodies.
