About us
The Global Science Academy (GSA) is a non-profit organization based in Basti, Uttar Pradesh (India) working on spectrum of topics pertaining to Science, Ocean Science, Environment and societal issues since 1996. Around the past three decades, GSA, aligned various development goals with that of the United Nations’ (UN) and engaged dedicatedly, through its activities, towards the success of UN Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development 2021-2030 along with other wide-ranging initiatives on Climate-Change Mitigation and others. With the history of around three decades of dedicated service to the science, environment, society and humanity, the Global Science Academy (GSA) – as India’s prominent Civil Society, is organizing the ‘5 + 5 OCEAN DECCADE CONFERENCE’ (contextualizing ‘UN Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development 2021-2030’) at NEW DELHI (INDIA) on World Ocean Day (08th June 2025). This conference marks the halfway point of the UN Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development (2021-2030) and which would also help to upkeep the implementation of Sustainable Development Goal 14 (SDG-14) i.e. the goal which focuses on conserving and sustainably using the oceans, seas, and marine resources for sustainable development. The Conference’ Focal Theme is: “Charting Half a Decade, Shaping the Next Five Years: Achievements and Aspirations for a Sustainable Ocean”.
